We would like to take this opportunity to Thank our community for their support during our recent Annual Membership Drive.  Your responses and generosity were overwhelming!

All Firefighters have now been sized for our new combination Wild Fire and Extrication PPE, thanks to a grant received from LCRA.  This will make a huge difference with not only our comfort and safety, but also our ability to respond quickly and efficiently.

We also recently received a grant for more Fire Equipment from TX Forest Service.  We are looking to replace some of our worn hoses,  tools,  and equipment.

We would like to Thank  LCRA  and TFS for their generosity in making these grants available for application.

Almost all of our Firefighters recently completed Wild Land Fire Training, put on by Chisholm Trail FD and Texas Forrest Service.  Great job to all who participated !!  Most also completed an Emergency Vehicle Operators Course shortly before that.  We strive to keep ourselves, and our community safe at every available opportunity.

We would like to Congratulate our own Joshua McNabb, on his recent completion of the EMT-Basic course !!  Our community will continue to be well served for EMS Assistance calls with this addition !

As always, our business meetings are the 3rd Thursday of each month, at 7 PM, at our newly Re-Dedicated  J.D. Reed Station, at 6450 FM 3158.  Please feel free to attend the meetings. Also, come by any Thursday at 7 PM to just say Hi, watch us train, or talk to us about joining !

Stay  Safe !!

Greetings fellow McMahan Residents!

We write you not only as a members of the community, but as your McMahan Volunteer Fire Department which serves our community and surrounding areas with structure and wild fire suppression, motor vehicle accident response, EMS assistance, and swift water / technical rescue. As most of you know, aside from a $1000 monthly stipend from Caldwell County, we generate all of our funding through charitable community donations, Fund Raising events, Grants, and our Annual Membership Drive.

In light of our recent-past personnel changes, we continue the process of not only re-committing ourselves to the service of our community, but also trying to enhance our station, training program, and increasing our personnel. We have been Blessed to have received Grants for a new Command Truck, and new Personal Protection Equipment (PPE). Fortunately, we have seen some new recruits in the past few months, but increasing our force continues to be a necessity.

Along with these personnel and administrative changes, there are physical changes that need to happen as well. We have discussed building an enclosed, secure storage area for PPE and tools. We would also like to build new dressing areas and gear storage cubbies for our Fire Fighters, which would also double as increased storage area for other items. Our “Wish List” includes wanting to obtain a small Conex Box to be placed immediately outside the station to house all of our lawn maintenance and cleaning equipment, which will help to open-up the back bay for a dedicated workshop area. Any assistance with any of these projects would be greatly appreciated.

As a resident in our response area of McMahan, the Volunteer Fire Departments asks you for an Annual Membership contribution of $30, which is Tax-Deductible, and would make you a MVFD Sponsor. Of course, everyone is always welcome, and encouraged, to attend our Business Meetings on the 3rd Thursday of each month.

Thank you for your time and consideration of this request. Please feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns regarding the Department.

Hello McMahan Residents!            July 10, 2018

McMahan Volunteer Fire Department serves our community and surrounding areas with structure and wild fire suppression, motor vehicle accident response, EMS assistance, and swift water / technical rescue. As most of you know, aside from a $1000 monthly stipend from Caldwell County, we generate all of our funding through charitable community donations, Fund Raising events, Grants, and our Annual Membership Drive.

Due to our continued diligence in seeking alternative funding, we have recently received a Grant for new Fire Equipment ( Hoses, Nozzles, Tools, and Lights ). We are also currently seeking a Grant to augment our safety equipment, including Roadside Vests, Rain Gear, Safety Glasses, and Gloves. These additions will help to keep us safe as we work to help keep you safe. We strive to be good stewards of all funds, and much work has been done to ensure that we are getting the best possible equipment for the fairest price !

Unfortunately, there are many cost associated with running the Department that are not eligible to be covered by Grants. These costs include Utilities, Office Supplies, Gasoline, Vehicle Maintenance / Upkeep costs, and Station Improvements. There is some work and repairs that need to be done to our physical building. We also still have a short wish list for new projects and improvements that are not covered by other funding. This is where your Membership fees come in. It is through your commitment to our department, and your generosity, that we are able to continue to serve our community.

During our last mail-out at the beginning of this year, 800 Membership letters were sent out. Of those sent out, we received 231 Replies. As a resident in our response area of McMahan, the Volunteer Fire Departments asks you for an Annual Membership contribution of $30, which is Tax-Deductible. We Thank those of you who maintained your membership, and the many that donated above-and-beyond ! If you did respond last time, know that we have documented your contribution, and please do not feel that we are asking again. If you did not return your Membership, Please consider taking the time to complete the attached form and mail it back. Also, include an e-mail address if you would like. This will help us to maintain contact with our members, provide Updates, News items, and Invites without the added costs of Bulk Mail. As always, everyone is welcome, and encouraged, to attend our Business Meetings on the 3rd Thursday of each month starting at 7 PM, at the J.D. Reed Station.

Thank you for your time and consideration of this request. Please feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns regarding the Department.
